Kyila's Birthday

May 19th was Kyila's Birthday. We had a party at the Mall of America Water Park the previous Saturday. She had a few friends and cousin Lucas go with here. I was there to supervise but had as much fun as anyone. We went down a number of body and raft slides spending countless time in the wave pool, lazy river and hot tub.

We wined and dined on pizza and pop...utterly delicious and nutritious. A couple of us tried the surf pool. It was boogie boarding. Pretty fun to try. A couple of the kids wiped out, including Kyila, sending them to the 'rack' crying.

It was a long but fun day...I think all the kids had a great time.

Then on Kyila's birthday we had family over to the house for pizza and pop...once again...everyone seemed to have a nice time. I think there were about 20 of us including all the kiddo's.

Kuhn Explosion 2010

One word...heavenly...yes this exactly describes my cooking during the week...oh and Stella Avery Kuhn...

Logistically it all worked out quite well. Paul got into town just about the same time that Jaime and Stella's flight arrived. Paul met me at work and Heidi picked up the girls from the airport. The five of us met back at the 611 Club.

It was great to see them and we enjoyed good food, conversation and libations. Our girls had a fantastic time with Stella. They played with her so well and kept her entertained. She had a smile almost the whole time.

We grilled out the first night, had some scrumptious hamburgers. I was a fiend on Weber...just completely slayed it.

Our girls had school so the adults plus one had the days to themselves. The girls went shopping at Ikea and Mall of America on Thursday while Paul and I monitored the stock markets 1000 point plunge with great excitement. Our joy was short lived.

I made a big Mexican feast that evening...again the cooktop was hot but so were my skills.

It was leisure over excitement and the weather didn't help our cause as it was cold, windy and full of rain.

In the end we just enjoyed our time together...which was most important to me. Special props out to my better half as Heidi had the house in high standing and the 1812 Kuhn's were thoroughly impressed with the 611 style and who can blame them.
