Not that there is much to see and they are just gutters but still thought I would give a quick post and pictures. Also raked the yard yesterday which brought out some new grass but we have patches of grass completely dead. Hopefully it will spread, only time will tell.

Kuhns' Magic Carpet Ride
The carpet is now fully installed and let me just say it is quite luxurious. One might even say divine. Now I did not opt for a very expensive carpeting since it is a basement occupied by a six and eight year old but I did get an upgraded pad. What a difference that pad makes...much nicer than the upstairs.
Heidi took it upon herself to have the steps done as well...that initially was not scheduled to be done by the installer. We did it under the table...gave the contractors a little cash and they used the extra carpet that was left over...so it only cost an extra 100 bones to get new carpeting on the steps as well. Heidi is a master negotiator.
The girls are really excited as well. Their bedrooms are so much nicer and give a finished feeling. They also have a great new play area that should be more comfortable for them. Heidi and I hope it will help on sound reduction as well. LOL

Jamie's Birthday Party
Friday was the start to Jamies Birthday weekend, we had a wonderful time with 12 6 year olds over at our home to kick off the fun......the girls enjoyed playing games, eating pizza and dancing with Scott.
Jamie got everything she wanted including her pink ipod, plenty of itunes gift cards and of course dolls and zhu zhu pets.
We continued the festivities the next day in Duluth at the water park...unfortunately the camera did not make the trip...we took the girls cousin Lucas with us and the three of them had a time, for sure...we had great weather and strutted the boardwalk before coming home on Sunday.
All and all a good birthday but our last we will throw at the 611 club.

Jamie's Birthday
Today our Jamie turns six years old...how the time flies. She is having a big birthday party at our house and we will have about 10 six year old girls over...running and screaming I am sure. Heidi and the girls have spent the past few days cleaning and decorating the basement. It is a pink princess birthday theme. Always pink for Jamie...she even got a pink ipod nano as her birthday gift.
Tomorrow the family will head north to Duluth for a family birthday party at a water park. We are staying at the Edgewater which has a big indoor facility that the girls love.
I will make sure to update with pictures next week.

The Girls' Bedrooms
I would have put a picture of Kyila's bed and the other theme wall with the hunter orange curtains but her room was a disaster area.

March 12 2010 - Housing Update
We have now been in our new home for about 8 months and after a full football season with little time to get many new projects either started or completed, I finally have some time to dedicate to the house.
The basement got measured for carpeting just yesterday and we have about 1200 sq ft to get covered. We bought the carpet from Lowe's and will have one of their contractors install. Still do not know when that will get completed but hope it is within the next month. We are all excited, especially the girls who have had to endure a concrete floor in their 'play' area.
While the girls are excited about getting carpeting in the basement. I am excited about installing some vinyl flooring in the garage. The garage was just too difficult to keep clean and we keep bringing in a bunch of dirt and water every time we come in the house. I am going to get channelled flooring that will go wall to wall. I can hardly wait.
Heidi also called to start getting bids on gutters for the house. It ended up about 40% less than what I anticipated. That is a positive. Now I can use that extra money for a snow blower for next winter. We barely made it through this year without one. The only reason we survived was due to our kindly natured neighbor who never hesitated to come clear our drive on heavy snow days.
I also painted my office, integrating some chocolate and orange stripes which compliment my walnut furniture and a few of the paintings that I had previously done (Amateur Philosophers and The Old Guitarist). Now I just need new curtains (hoping for a thick white and chocolate backing) and new overhead light fixture. My office will then be complete.

Chuck e Cheese for Kyila
Kyila's classmate Michelle had a birthday party at Chuck e Cheese on Sunday. Kyila had a great time and won a toy snake, frog and spinning top. Momma and Poppa spent the two hours at the Galleria in Edina looking at furniture and kitchen items at Crate and Barrel.
